Group Musical Theatre Singing Class

Mondays ~ 4:30 - 5:15
January 23rd - March 20th

Our smaller group singing classes teach young singers the fundamentals of proper technique while they have fun learning songs from popular musicals.  Regardless of the song, the basics stay the same. We encourage and develop budding singers as they learn to bring out their creative and musical talents through song.  All students learn solo songs as well as group numbers.  Class culminates in a final demonstration/performance for family and friends.

Acting and Improvisation 

Beginning Acting

Ages: 8-10
Wednesdays ~ 4:00-5:00
January 25th - March 15th

Your child’s imagination and confidence will soar in this acting class for young students. The art of improvisation, story telling and theater games will help establish a foundation for good acting skills and creative development.  Most importantly, students have fun!  (Demonstration on final class for friends and family. All skill levels welcome.)

Creative Drama and Comic Improv.

Act Perf

Ages: 11-14
Wednesdays ~ 5:00-6:00
January 25th - March 15th


In this fast paced class, students will hone their acting and improvisation skills. This class is for all skill and experience levels. 

Develop skills such as “thinking on your feet”, using your imagination and knowing what to say in any given situation. Feel better about speaking in front of a group or just join in for the fun of participating in improvisational skits. If you are interested in acting or would like to be trained in the skills of improvisational comedy, here is your opportunity! 

Final class culminates in demonstration performance for family and friends.

Musical Theatre Song and Dance 

MTSD3

Ages: 8-13
Thursdays ~ 4:00-5:00
January 26th - March 16th

Always a favorite!  Expand your acting, singing and dancing skills in this triple threat class.  Learn some of the most famous songs and dances from contemporary and classic Broadway hits.  Students will learn steps that might be encountered in any theater audition, as well as work on vocal technique.   This is a real confidence builder for all would-be performers.  Class is for all levels and abilities.

Intermediate Tap Dancing

Interm Tap

Ages: 8-18
Thursdays ~ 5:00-6:00
January 26th - March 16th

You’re never too old to learn how to tap with the best of them!  This high-energy class places focus on the basic fundamental skills of tap dancing.  Refine and develop the tap moves to a variety of different music and tempos.  Steps covered include shuffles, flaps and other combinations of steps needed for basic auditions ….or just for fun!  So get on your tap shoes, and let’s start making music with our feet!

Interm Tap2

*This class is designed for tap students who have had a previous tap class but want to solidify basic skills.  

*Tap shoes are required for this class*

Teen Musical Theatre Dance Boot Camp

Ages: 12-18
Thursdays ~ 6:00-7:00
January 26th - March 16th

This class is either for first-time or continuing musical theater students with past experience in performance as well as in some dance. Students continue to learn how to focus on honing skills in different styles of musical theatre dance, as well as honing skills in intermediate and advanced tap dancing. Emphasis is placed on learning how to adapt to new choreography and styles quickly.

  • Learn not to get distracted by challenging moments
  • Learn tricks to learning choreography quickly in a dance audition
  • Class will culminate in a mock musical theatre dance audition, with constructive feedback, for invited musical theatre dance professional(s).

(Pre-requisite: Participation requires students with some musical theatre dance.)

NCSA Class Information

All NCSA classes (except our private and group singing classes) are held at Dance North County, 535 Encinitas Blvd. Class specifics are subject to change without notice. Registration is accepted through the first week of the session. Each class has definite class size and age limits. 

Cancellations/Refunds: Cash refunds (less $25.00 service charge per child, per class or camp) are available up until seven days prior to the start of class or camp, after which time no refund is given. If NCSA must cancel a class or camp due to insufficient enrollment, any tuition paid will be refunded in full.

We offer the opportunity of multi-class and sibling discounts. Email info@ncsarts.org for more information.

Jenna NATS

Pamela Laurent and Scott Gregory have been training the next generation of professionals with huge success.  Their students have gone on to nationally recognized colleges/universities for music, won local and regional singing competitions, as well as earned leading roles all around San Diego and in the professional world beyond.  Using their decades of professional singing experience to guide students,  Scott and Pamela lead students to excel in vocal training and in performing confidence. 

Nothing can replace quality vocal technique and instruction.  Whether you or your student want to enjoy singing for fun, for bettering singing auditions, or for learning proper, healthy vocal technique, studying at the voice studio is a positive step in the right direction.  

Please contact us if you are looking for individual vocal instruction. NCSA’s private voice studio is in session, excluding July, all year round. Lessons are private and are given weekly for either 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute weekly time allotments.

Because individual lesson are scheduled according to your schedule, we cannot have you sign-up online without talking to us before hand.

Performing Arts Class Location

All classes, unless otherwise noted, are held at Dance North County at 535 Encinitas Boulevard in the North Coast Business Park.  Classes are conducted in either the Main ballroom studio (Ste. 100), the Junior Ballroom studio (Ste. 101), or the Clubroom studio (Ste. 102).  Specific studio assignments for classes are communicated to students and parents via email from info@ncsarts.org.
